Have you ever considered the wonders of the everyday hook?

Hooks are readily available everywhere…. from your local hardware store (where you’ll find standard coat hooks), to Ikea (contemporary and colorful hooks), even flea markets (just polish them up!). They can blend with your décor (best choices: wood and chrome) or become a decorative focal point to enliven your closet, room or hallway. Hooks are cheap, decorative, and easy to install (yes ! even you can hang a hook!)

There are so many amazing ways a simple wall-mounted hook can facilitate your organizing needs. The best place to install hooks ? Place hooks where items are:

* regularly dropped – install hooks in your entryway to hang coats and backpacks
* creating clutter – try hanging a basket on a hook to hold the mail or school papers
* in frustrating disarray – hooks in closets can provide amazing organization for your necklaces, handbags, and scarves

And don’t neglect the garage ! Stuff sports gear and out-of-season equipment in mesh bags, hang on hooks, and you’re done. No need to invest $$$ for shelving and drawers that will promptly become cluttered, and into which you can’t see!

Here are a few more hook ideas:

This Oar hook can be found at Potterybarn Kids but if you are industrious you could make this yourself! http://www.potterybarnkids.com/

Here is another from PBK. Put a bench under your Peg Rack and watch your storage space DOUBLE!

This is one of our favorites. Visit your local Anthropolie store to see an amazing variety of decorative hooks - or visit them online! http://www.anthropolgie.com/
